Workers’ Compensation Introduction

Illinois Workers’ Compensation Explained

Chapter 1 –  Introduction

Many people have questions about the requirements of the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Act.  When does the workers’ compensation act apply?  What benefits do I get? How much is my workers’ compensation settlement worth?  We wrote the “Illinois Workers’ Compensation Explained” article to provide a basic summary of the laws that should help you answer many of the routine questions that come up.

We would also point out that there is a very similar Act known as the Occupational Diseases Act.  While the laws are similar, you should not rely upon the information presented here as being applicable to Occupational Diseases.
